I got back from Coppet, CH

today, at about noon (12 hours ago). I have 6 days of stuff to catch up on. We were visiting SG’s parents. Her dad has arthritis pretty bad and I helped him with some construction projects around their house.

I got 15 pages and 10 Visio drawings done, in 3 days, on a new white paper for the Slamlander site. It’s about Firewalls and NAT. This’ll be a first-draft under the Slamlander label. After it cooks a “while”, I intend to re-write for commercial sale, under my real name. I also made some edits on the site itself.

I just read about the ICANN messing up on the LY ccTLD. A bunch of us told ICANN not to do that, back in 1999. This almost makes me want to get back into the old DNS wars. I’m a decentralised root zone guy. This is one strong argument against a US-centric centralised root-zone. The other one was made when a hugely arrogant ICANN denied the EU its own TLD.

Tomorrow SG and I are “Spring cleaning” the flat.

I finally did it.

I submitted a book proposal to O’Reilly, yesterday morning.

A whitepaper I was working on just was getting too big. Yes, it means that I was trying a scope that was too ambitious. However, it’s a topic that I don’t see well covered and one that I’ve actually been working as a business plan for years. Now that my company is gone, I can publish the technology.

I could use all the luck and prayers that anyone cares to send me on this.
