While they are considering Turkey’s Armenian Problem, (the vote itself) as a genocide, they should also consider America’s Native American problem as a genocide. If America isn’t ready to admit that, then they have no place accusing Turkey. Maybe, Turkey should adopt such a resolution about Native Americans, many of whom are still being repressed and exploited.
The part that really highlights American Ignorance is the fact that if the Ottoman Turks can be accused of genocide strictly by body count then the Ottoman Armenians can also be so accused. They both massively depopulated each other's lands. When is it a war and when do war losses become genocide? Turkey is one of the few countries down there that is culturally friendly to the west. This would be a slap in the face that they would find it hard to live with. They might even [gasp] consider it an insult. Especially when the Native American issues, and the US Cavalry's genocide , of Native Americans, are well known. Wounded Knee, Trail of Tears, the Long Walk, and many other tales of American inflicted tragedy, on their own indigenous people, make it astounding that America even has the balls for this declaration. Maybe that's it. America has no more balls to tell them that this isn't right. There was a time when America had the courage to stand up for what is Right! America has been emasculated. It is times like this when I am sorry to be an American citizen. I hope Hilary Clinton gets elected, America deserves the bitch, black whip, leather dominatrix gear, and all! America, home of the slaves, land of the cowards. Edit: Just to be clear: With the possible exception of Switzerland, there is no Western Nation that can be held innocent of the charge of genocide, especially including America!
